I Still Can't Believe it's February

I still can't believe it is February.  Where does the time go?
Kalanchoe bloom and bee
The weather here in Austin, Texas has just been crazy.  No other way to explain it.  Just nuts.  Cold one day, hot the next.  This weather is making my allergies go insane (as well as most everyone else) and people are getting sick left and right.
Lions Tail
The bees don't seem to be phased though- I have seen quite a few out and about which is refreshing as well as a few butterflies.  Above on the Lion's Tail I sat and watched them for what seemed forever.  It was mesmerizing.  They are such hard workers!!
Squid Agave
I have taken a few photos lately and thought I'd share of things I have found interesting as of late.  I have always loved looking down on the Agaves- above is a photo of the Squid Agave from above in one container I made paired with a yellow sedum.
Kalanchoe Bloom
I have had so much fun lately playing with the succulents I must admit.  They are so colorful and easy to combine and mix and match.  And the blooms- I mean look at that!!!!   When I was creating my pots this little guy was just watching me.  It was so sweet.  Hard to tell in this photo but he is so little!!!
Sedum
I have been making up new containers cause I for one and ready for spring!!!  I did a little post on our website if you want to read for more information Plant Succulents and Sedum .
Lemon and Kumquat
For fun the other day I got a photo of the Meyer Lemon and the Sweet Kumquat and did a poll on Instagram to see who preferred one over the other and Meyer Lemon won hands down.  Not shocked but it was fun to do the poll nonetheless.
Hope everyone is staying warm, happy and WELL.  This flu that is going around is just plain scary!!!!

February GBBD 2017

Happy February GBBD 2017!  I say it all the time but where does the time go?
Aloe marlothii
The weather here has been just plain crazy.  Hot, cold, freezing, meeting all kinds of records for coldest then hottest days of the year on record- just typical Texas weather....
The Aloe marlothii is blooming which to me is always a magnificent bloom spike.
Echeveria
The echeveria are enjoying the cooler temperatures and showing off all their colors.
Agave Blue Glow
The Agave 'Blue Glow' is using the sunshine to show off it's beautiful edges.
The succulents have been blooming away which is always fun to watch.

July Blooms!

Passion Vine
So much is blooming right now and the bees and butterflies are everywhere!!!
I have been having so much fun walking around snapping photos of everything.  The Passion vine are such neat blooms- we have this one growing along the fence.
Pride of Barbados
The Pride of Barbados are blooming like crazy- here in the front as well as all over town.  Show stoppers for sure!!!
succulent bloom
The succulent blooms are hard to beat.  Small blooms but striking.
Kalanchoe Mother of Millions
Most people have a love/hate with this little guy- some call him Mother of Thousands, Mother of Millions and Mexican Hat.  All names I have heard for this little Kalanchoe.  The love /hate part comes when you find them growing just about everywhere.....
Duranta
The bees have been everywhere and in mass.  It is realy neat- the blooms seem to be moving on their own but at a closer glance, it is just that there are tons of bees on the blooms.  Yea!!!
Dwarf Ruellia
The Pink Ruellia have been blooming nonstop.  I love these happy masses of blooms.

This little guy was running around - so cute!!
Monarch
The Monarchs have been out and about.  The Duranta seem to be a favorite this week of theirs but they pretty much will go to any bloom.  Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer!!!

What a Beautiful Day!!

What a beautiful day!!!  I had a great time just walking around today looking at all the butterflies and bees enjoying the sun.
Here they are enjoying the Spring Bouquet Viburnum.

The bees were all over the Grape Holly just buzzing around.
While I was sitting there snapping photos, the bees and the butterfly on the Grape Holly were not wanting to share....

Alas, in the end they decided to take separate sides.  It's so nice when everyone can get along!
Hope you are having as beautiful of a day as we are.  Last check, it was 71.
