Last week we visited the Denver Botanic Gardens. It was beautiful!!! They have incorporated sculpture throughout the gardens - what a wonderful place.
We walked around and were (or at least I was) surprised at how many of the plants we plant in Texas with our heat are thriving there in Colorado of all places. Who knew??? Not me!
Yucca Rostrata in bloom.
Red Yuccas in bloom.
Smoke Tree in bloom.
They had several water features- all equally stunning.
I took a lot of photos so I thought I would split it up into two or three posts as to not bore or overwhelm. Hope you enjoy. If you ever get a chance, it is well worth your time.
Look at that beautiful garden! So pretty. Thanks for sharing your trip.
ReplyDeleteThanks!!!
DeleteWow! What an amazing looking garden! How I wish I had been there to see it too. The big borders in first images must have been something to see and I love the water feature near the end of the post.
ReplyDeleteI would think I had found a favorite part then we would turn the corner and I was like, maybe THIS is my favorite- hahaha very pretty though with the sculptures and flowers and everything mixed in.
DeleteWhat a marvelous botanical garden - thanks for the tour!
ReplyDeleteIt was wonderful!
DeleteBeen there 5 times overr a 30 year period. And it's still outstanding.
ReplyDeleteAgreed!
DeleteA great place! I think a number of TX plants do fairly well there mostly because Denver is not as cold most of the time as some think, plus Colorado is so varied in climates...and Denver is in the warmer half of the state, being lower. Most of the west is that way, with all the elevation changes.
ReplyDeleteLook for the blog "Prairie Break", as it is by the head curator there, Panayoti K., in case you didn't get to meet him!
That is very true- that is probably exactly why. It was wonderful. I will go check out that blog- I did not get to meet him but look forward to reading his blog- thanks!!
