Happy GBBD! I still can't believe it is June! Where does the time go? We have had a lot of rain here in Austin lately and things are blooming like crazy! The butterflies are flying around, bees busy working away, hummingbirds zipping around- it has been wonderful! Here are a few photos of things I felt stood out lately.
The Gomphrena have such a bright cheerful bloom!
The butterflies have been all over the Gregg's mistflower. Too pretty!!
Ice Cream anyone?
The Butterfly Vine- old standby. Love the intricate almost lace like blooms.
The Vitex never disappoint. Tons of color! So pretty - they are blooming all over town!!
The Charity Mahonia are nice though approach with caution- they are spiky!!
The Pedlianthus are loaded with the Lady Slipper blooms, hence the more common name.
These little guys are all over the place. So sweet.
The verdict is still out for me on the purple Jerusalem Sage.... Can't decide.... I think I prefer the yellow. Just a bit too subtle for me I think.
The Agastache. If only this were scratch and sniff....... adore this plant.
Hope everyone is enjoying their summer! Where does the time go?!?! A special thank you to May Dreams Gardens for hosting the GBBD! Visit her blog to get a glimpse of what is blooming all over the world! Enjoy!
Just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteTerrific images and many plants I have never seen. Pity your nursery is 4000 miles away :-)
ReplyDelete:-) Thanks!!!
DeleteHappy GBBD! Your garden is lovely and nice capture of the butterfly!
ReplyDeleteThank you! He was so cute- he could have cared less I was there - very focused on his activities....
DeleteI loved seeing your blooms because they are so different from what we can grow in upstate New York. Years ago I spent 8 months in Wichita Falls, and never made it to Austin. One day, I hope to. Happy GBBD - Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteHappy GBBD! I have never been to Wichita Falls but hear it is beautiful.
DeleteGirl, you have stunning pictures here ... love the butterfly! We haven't seen many here at all and I am growing so many flowers especially for them plus dill and curly parsley.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know my anise hyssup died on me until it was to late to order a plant .. I haven't seen any for sale here at our garden centers at all. Note for next year !!
Thanks for stopping by my blog : )
Aww thanks! The butterflies are easier to get than the hummingbirds and equally as exciting. This little guy would not move. He could have cared less I was snapping away! haha
DeleteYour voted is gorgeous. So many bees.
ReplyDeleteLove the butterflies with the blooms, especially the one visiting the Gregg's mistflower. Is it a queen (Danaus gilippus)?
