Rainbow Connection....

 Meet Kermit.  

He's our resident frog in the fish tank.  He just appeared one day and seems to like it and has been hanging out a few weeks now.  I was worried at first about the fish, but they all seem to be getting along just fine.  

You see, I am a little protective about the fish... 

 Anyway, he's really shy. 

Every time anyone walks up, he dives back down or dips back in the water.  You can catch him just sitting peeking out from behind the parrot feather grass, but more often than not, you'll find him sitting on one of the lilly pads soaking up the sun. 

We named him Kermit, well, for obvious reasons of course.  

I mean, who didn't/doesn't love The Muppets?  That song has not stopped going through my head all day.... The Rainbow Connection......

Hangin' with the Blue Glow

 These little guys are so animated they just crack me up.

 I was checking on the 'Blue Agave' pot and there he was stretched out sunbathing and staring at me.  I ran inside and got the camera and he very politely waited for me.

 He was totally watching me- it was so cute.

Right after this shot he crawled off under the Senecio and I couldn't get a good shot of him, figured I had barged in on his day long enough so I just let him be. 

Still Glowing

This vine is going nuts and I couldn't be more excited.

It's the 'Ruby Glow' Passion Vine and I am in love.  I kept waiting to see what it was going to do, waiting to see patiently and then almost as soon as I forgot to go check it, Alfonso came over and asked me if I'd seen "La nueva" (the new one).  And there she was.... beautiful as ever.  I took this photo pretty early on in the morning and as the day progressed she got prettier if that is possible.

I took this picture a little later on- not sure if you can tell the difference but it was more vibrant and larger and opened up a little bit. We have this planted on the fence and I have enjoyed the large green leaves and watched it grow but was waiting and waiting for the blooms and finally!!  They are so pretty.  Well worth the wait!

The weather we are having here in Austin is incredible!  It is cool, we got rain, what more can a person ask for????

All the flowers are blooming away in celebration.  The Leonotis are rockin' and rollin'.

 The Coneflowers are brilliantly purple.

 The Hibiscus are huge and happy- I love the velvet like centers!!

 The Plumbago are hard to beat- steady little bloomers.

The Maples are turning colors - fall is near!!!!

 The Tropical Sage are blooming away in the front bed.

 The Salvia leucantha are full of blooms.

 The Beach Vitex- one of my favorites.  

 The Thyrallis are such a vibrant yellow- I love how they look next to the Salvia Mystic Spires.

 The Desert Rose has been showing off all week.

 The Fall Asters are blooming- fall is here and or near!

 The Prides are still blooming away in the fence bed.

 The Cherry Barbados are in full bloom- so pretty.

 The Cassias are full of bees and full of blooms.

 The American Beautyberries are full of berries. 

 The Philippine Violets are in full bloom as well. 

 The Hummingbird Bush are a Hook Em' orange.  Love it!

Too Pretty Not To Share!

I got here this morning and saw this- beautiful no?

It is a Dragon Fruit flower.  They are stunning.  

I took this photo with my phone!  Pretty good shot for a camera phone I thought.  They open at night and start to close up as the day progresses.  By the time I got back there with my camera it had started to shut so I am posting this shot. 

The bees are all over it and very happy.  I have not posted in a while -my apologies-  moved into a new house then Michael had back surgery- but everything is starting to calm down a little so I am planning on GBBD and keeping up regularly after that. Hope everyone has had a great summer and loving this cooler weather we are having here in Austin!!!
