Garden Bloggers Bloom Day Feb 2012

Happy GBBD February 2012!
The Gazania are full of blooms- I have always found these to be such intriguing flowers.  They are so exotic.  Love em'!
The Giant Ligularia are hard to beat- the one in the front bed is still going strong and so hard to find things that bloom in the shade.  Always been a favorite.
The Spring Bouquet Viburnum are in bloom- I don't normally post them but felt they deserved to be featured.
The Rosemary are busting with color and the bees couldn't be happier!
The Euphorbia are loving the front bed I put them in.  They have doubled in size in no time!
The Mountain Laurels are beginning to open up- oh the sweet fragrance!!!!
The 'Midnight' Salvia are always a show stopper.
The limes are setting and blooming away.  Love the fragrance of the citrus blooms.
The Verbena are blooming away- always been a fan of the purple.
The Carolina Jessamine are blooming away- trying to figure out where I want to plant this vine.....
And last but not least, the Euryops are blooming away as always.  Not necessarily my favorite plant, but it is great for color.
Hope everyone has a great GBBD!!!  Visit May Dreams Gardens and see what's blooming all over the place!!

  2. Love the gazania! And I'm missing my euphorbia - mine died in last year's drought. And I love to see rosemary in bloom. For some reason, mine have never bloomed. You have a lot of pretty blooms! Happy GBBD!

    1. Me too- I think they are so unusual. Sorry about your euphorbia- they are a new one for me as of a couple months ago- I really like the color and how they grow and the blooms- becoming a new favorite of mine. I planted it in the front bed and it has gotten HUGE. That rosemary is a Tuscan Blue variety- maybe it flowers more than the one you have?

  5. What's the best planting time for the Gazania? I've never had much luck with them, but I really like them.

    1. It is a South African perennial and it needs regular water. I have given it some shade and regular water and then on particularly hot days when it seems weepy I give it a little more. For me that has worked- I have had this one for a year and it has been a blooming machine. I think I am going to move it though... not sure how it will transplant but I have a new idea for that one bed and moving things around. Will see....

    1. I really like it myself- I had no idea it bloomed so I liked it even MORE when I found that out HA. It grows fast too! It more than doubled in a few months. I like the color/ the texture and the shape of the leaves- neat little accent.

  7. Ah, you have gazanias blooming too. So early. I'm becoming quite entranced with the flowers of euphorbias. I'm sure I have a place for a few.

    1. I saw yours- your look so pretty too!!! I know- everything is so confused. The euphorbias are very neat indeed. I need to post an updated picture of the blooms now- that plant is so very cool to me- texture, color, shape of the leaves, rigidity of it, it's like a little sculpture.

  9. Such a pretty array of flowers! Love the Mountain Laurel and Spring Bouquet Viburnum especially. Sadly, I never get my rosemaries to overwinter. I have forgotten that they have such pretty blue flowers.
